The key to any hustle is a believable story. It’s no different with fuel-saving flimflams, which often claim to exploit some small, overlooked factor that automakers or oil companies don’t want you to know about. Normally, we wouldn’t give a second thought to fuel-economy hucksterism, but our dedication to journalistic inquiry—and our desire to save you a few bucks in these times of rising gas prices—found us ordering five items that promise to stretch your petro-dollar. Four of the five devices showed up, and we tested each in a Mazda 3 and a Jeep Grand Cherokee at steady speeds—35 and 70 mph—on the oval test track at Chrysler’s Chelsea proving ground. A ScanGauge II tool (www.scangauge.com), which plugs into a vehicle’s OBD II port, provided accurate average-fuel-economy measurements. The results?  Well, we hope they don’t surprise you.

DYNAMIC IONIZER
$30.00 (www.toa-corp.co.jp)
The Claim: “Simply placed in the fuel tank or air filter, the Dynamic Ionizer pellets act as a molecular Ionizer on the fuel in the tank and air on the filter. This dynamic ionizing effect energies [sic] the fuel and air at molecular level [sic] causing [sic] to be agitated as it enters the combustion chambers.”
The Result: We never had a chance to try out these magic beans. Six weeks after we received a shipping notification from pre-tsunami Japan, this product had yet to arrive.

originalFUEL DOCTOR FD-47
$59.99 (www.fueldoctorusa.com)
The Claim: Plugged into the cigarette-lighter socket, “the FD-47 increases a vehicle’s miles per gallon (MPG) through power conditioning of the vehicle’s electrical systems. Conditioned and clean power allows the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU), fuel injection and engine timing equipment to operate more efficiently.”
The Result: The modest improvement we saw is nowhere near the claim of  “up to 25 percent” more mpg and likely attributable to minor variables such as wind. Post-test, we cracked open the FD-47 to find a simple circuit board for the LED lights. Even if you could “condition” the ECU through the lighter socket, it’s unlikely  the Fuel Doctor is doing so. On the upside, it might help prevent you from smoking in your car.

Update: The people at Fuel Doctor take issue with our test of their product. Fuel Doctor claims that its product is meant for vehicles that are 2 or more years old. We acknowledge that our test was performed on newer vehicles and stand behind our result. If you wish to perform your own examination we refer you to Fuel Doctor’s 90-day money back guarantee. Stay tuned for more updates as we perform further investigations in the coming weeks.

HOT INAZMA ECO
$99.95 (www.sunautomobile.com)
The Claim: “The vehicle’s voltage will drop when electrical components are in use and when the car is under acceleration; Hyper Voltage System stores electricity to provide constant voltage to your electrical system.”
The Result: Remember the thing about a credible story? Here’s a perfect example. Accessories sap power from the electrical system. The alternator responds by pumping out more power and increasing the engine’s load and fuel consumption. The capacitors in the Hot InaZma Eco (we took a destructive peek inside) are not likely what was responsible for the negligible fuel-economy improvement we measured.

MOLETECH FUEL SAVER
$129.99 (www.moletech.biz)
The Claim: “Moletech is a fuel enrichment system that modifies the properties of fuel. It changes the molecular aggregation of the fuel from larger clusters to smaller clusters or even single molecules by breaking down the van der Waals force between the fuel molecules. The smaller fuel molecules expose a larger surface area for improved contact with oxygen which produces a better combustion reaction, in turn allowing greater fuel efficiency.”
The Result: The Moletech consists of three small cylinders: one for the fuel tank, one for the air cleaner, and one for a coolant line. After installation, these passive devices require an “activation,” whereby you rev the engine for a few minutes. Even if the chemistry mumbo jumbo were real, what’s to stop the fuel from clumping up again on the way to the engine? You’re better off wearing a special fuel-optimization party hat than buying the Moletech.

70 mph: -1%

originalFUEL BOSS MAGNETIC FUEL SAVER
$23.99 (www.jcwhitney.com)
The Claim: “When gasoline remains in your tank over time, the fuel molecules start to cluster. The molecules on the inside of these clusters can’t be exposed to the oxygen necessary for combustion. The result is incomplete fuel burn with the unburned molecules emitted as pollution or remaining inside the engine as damaging carbon/varnish deposits. [It delivers] an abrupt designed magnetic field to break up these fuel clusters, exposing all molecules to the oxygen, ensuring the best fuel burn possible!”
The Result: Fuel readily burns when it’s vaporized, mixed properly with oxygen, and lit with a spark. Save the magnets for a bracelet that improves your golf game. For the truly gullible, the company also offers an “ultra-heavy-duty” version for $38.99.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————So there you have it. Straight from Car and Driver Magazine’s June 2011 Issue. An Article investigating the claims of today’s current most popular “fuel saving” devices on the market. If you think this article was doctored in any way feel free to read it for your self here at CarandDriver.com where you can read it at their website, and you can even read the comments from readers like yourself. Readers like me who questioned why Car and Driver Magazine FAILED to test ANY HHO Gas Generator Kits out on the market today. I wrote to Car and Driver asking their permission to post this article of theirs and received no response from them. Others have written Car and Driver about why they never investigated the claims of Increased Fuel Efficiency from HHO Generators and HHO Gas and how using HHO Gas Generator Kits would help people Save Money on Gas and they as well have been met with No Response.

If you would like to learn more about  true Gas Saving Technology, be sure to check out (in my opinion) the Best HHO Generators on the Market. I have been doing research since November 2010 on various methods of creating HHO Gas and I have found these HHO Kits have the highest LPM output of HHO Gas.

200 miles on 2 Gallons of Gas Using 772 HHO Generator

From the desk of Hybridman at HHOkitsdirect.com

Well it has been really busy around here trying to finish up last minute revisions of the Truckers Block (a few necessary tweaks and modifications discovered after many long run/cool down cycles) and other exciting things that we will be releasing soon. Even with the stack of things that need to be done, I needed to take a few minutes and share this email with you…

I have more testimonies I need to upload here (my apologies to those who have sent me your results and I have not posted them yet), but I had to take the time to post this one that just came in this morning from our long time customer/dealer/installer in Florida – Paul Hendee of Energy Evolutions.

Normally I don’t post full names to protect our customers, but Paul is a great guy and is one of our distributors as well as an installer, so I thought I would share his info in case any of you need someone in the Florida area to install or buy from.

Here is the email that just came in this morning:

2004 Ford Escape

“Good Morning <Bob> !

Just a note on a recent install. Two weeks ago we did an install of one of our HHO 772 Hydrogen Generators on a 2004 Ford Escape.

Two things to note about this install; it was a very difficult install (tight) and we had a very suspicious customer.

Last night i gat a call from the customer. She reported driving 200 miles on 2 gallons of gasoline with the HHO install. Needless to say – Suspicion has vanished and happiness has arrived!”

(He goes on to talk about some private negotiations…)

Now this is not the first time Paul has gotten amazing results. He was and still is, one of our top contenders with an amazing 67 mpg on this Olds Delta 88. (To Read about Paul and his 67 mpg 1997 Olds Delta 88 CLICK HERE.)

He is also in talks with a major transportation agency so it would be foolish to make up anything, as a lot is at stake with his negotiations. Couple that with the fact that he had no problem telling me things were not working when we first started working together (it was just a faulty chip), and you understand he knows what he is doing, and has credibility with his emails.

If you need an installation in the Florida area- look up Paul over at Energy Evolutions

By the way, the fit issue has always been a challenge in the HHO industry and our kits are among the slimmest models out there presently. We have a new line of products to be released soon that will blow the industry away for fit and finish - stay tuned if fit is an issue with your car!

Have a great day!

1995 Freightliner Big Rig Goes From 6 MPG to 8.75 MPG using HHO Generator!

Picture of a 1995 Freightliner Big RigFrom the desk of Hybridman at HHOkitsdirect.com

Author: Hybridman

I was recovering from a little mini trip with some of my family to Yosemite today (got sick from bad Pork at a restaurant in Mariposa, I think). I finally was able to get up enough energy to start going through the 300 emails from being gone a few days.

Buried in the middle of them all was this phenomenal result from another one of our customers, Jay Rezexxxs. We had talked back and forth for awhile almost a month ago – he was interested in getting one of our dual units for his 1995 Freightliner Big Rig. We were still testing our newest unit for truckers, I mentioned he might want to wait for that if interested…

Jay opted to start with just a 773 HHO generator kit instead. This was his best option right now due to a restricted budget and the need to start saving money on diesel costs (on the rise again). I told him I wasn’t sure what he would get with that small of an HHO Generator on big 330 horsepower Cummins M-11, but it was at least a start…

Was I in for a surprise! I will let Jay’s email tell you the story…(excerpt from longer email)

“Hi Bob,

Jay Rezexxxs here. I wanted to give you a little feedback on the 773 I installed in my big rig. This is preliminary because I have only had it in and running in my truck for 3 days now. Figures may change some in the coming weeks depending on how heavy or light the loads I carry will be and the terrain (mountains vs. flat ground). My truck is a 1995 Freightliner. The engine is a Cummins M-11. It’s a small engine in the world of big rigs with about 330 horespower. As a truck driver I am always checking my fuel mileage on a daily basis. I do this by using a measuring stick. I dip the stick into the fuel tank and I measure how many inches of fuel are on the stick. I know that for every inch of fuel there is 5.83 gallons of fuel. Before installing the 773 I was averaging 6 miles per gallon. The first day I had the 773 running I was averaging 8.5 mpg! The second day I averaged 9 mpg!! and yesterday, the third day I averaged 8.75 mpg!! How awsome is that! I can’t wait to get another 773 and have the dual set up! I also got a few of the other drivers interested after the first day…”

I was floored! Why a 773 kit could help out such a big diesel rig get a mileage increase of almost 50%! I flat out told Jay I really did NOT expect that result at all, but of course I am extremely excited to see it.

This has me energized and wanting to see more truckers try out our units to get back to us with on their results too! It also motivates me to speed up our research and testing of our final design parameters with the new HHO Generator engineered for truckers specifically…

Stay tuned! Great things as we continue to move forward…

How Does An HHO Generator Work?

HHO GeneratorDid you know that, without an HHO Generator, a modern gasoline engine has an average efficiency of about 25 to 30%.  In other words, 70 to 75% of the energy stored in that expensive fuel wastes as heat, pollution (unburned fuel!) and vibration, and only about 25% of energy moves the vehicle.  Here you can find out how to install an HHO Generator for your car, or build one, that will make your car more efficient and cut your gasoline bill in half, while increasing your car’s performance.

So How Does An HHO Generator Work? It’s very simple really. You don’t touch your engine. A small container is placed in the car, somewhere under the hood. You fill it with water infused with electrolyte, and then the device is supplied with electricity from the battery. And via electrolysis it produces HHO Gas (Hydrogen+Hydrogen+Oxygen minus the molecular bonds that keep it in its liquid form of H2O)

The HHO Gas is supplied to the engine via the intake manifold or Carb. The HHO Gas then helps your gasoline burn more efficiently, while producing its own combustion. That added combustion of the HHO Gas gives you more power, and ultimately requires less gasoline to run your engine, resulting in Better Gas Mileage! It seems like it violates the laws of physics… but it doesn’t. It’s been proven that splitting water into HHO Gas via electrolysis requires energy, but by burning the Hydrogen PLUS the Oxygen that is produced, the HHO Gas acts as a catalyst to better burn your gasoline and actually increases your engine’s efficiency.

Basically you would be using an HHO Gas Generator Kit to turn your car into a hybrid, instead of having to go out and buy one for $25 – $30 thousand dollars. The HHO Gas Generator Kit is a Do-It-Yourself kit that is affordable and SIMPLE technology. But feel free to have your mechanic install for you if you are not good at installs yourself.  A lot of the Do-It-Yourself HHO Gas Generator Kits come with the HHO Generator pre-made so all YOU have to do is follow the instructions and install the HHO Kit.  But if you’re a TRUE  Do-It-Yourselfer or if your funds are a little tight, Do-It-Yourself E-Books are available that not only teach you how to install an HHO Gas Generator Kit, but they can also teach you how to design and build an HHO Generator yourself. Just stay away from OBVIOUS internet designs that are only worth a B+ at your Fifth Grade Science Fair. Which means no glass jars with nails or wire, and no designs with only 3 or 4 metal plates. (Unless you’re planning on installing 6 to 8 mason jar units with those kinds of designs… Just do yourself a favor by reading and following ALL the directions.)

So how would an HHO Generator help save you money?

Stop and think about what happens in an engine that does not use hydrogen. Every fuel molecule that is not burned by your engine is wasted money out of your pocket.

Let’s Say An HHO Gas Generator Kit helps your gasoline burn more efficiently and increases your vehicle’s gas mileage between 25% and 50%.

Now, consider for a moment that your vehicle has a 20 gallon gas tank and averages around 25 miles per gallon.

At 25%, you would be getting 125 more miles out of each tank of gas you put into your car.

That averages out to $15.00 of savings each time you fill up.

If your vehicle’s mileage increases by 35% by installing a supplemental HHO Generator, you will save $21.00 each time you fill up your tank.

That means a savings of almost $105 per month. That is $1260 per year! Every year!

67 Miles Per Gallon using 772 HHO Generator Kit!

From the desk of Hybridman at HHOkitsdirect.com

Author: Hybridman

Yes! You read that correct. I’m not talking about 67% increase here, I am talking 67 MPG using our 772 HHO Generator and a mileage chip!

What was it in you ask? A Honda? A Toyota? Hyundai, Subaru, or Mitsubishi?

67mpg 1997 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with 772 HHO Generator KitNOT even close! How about a 1997 Oldsmobile Delta 88? Unbelievable? That’s what I thought too. Here are the very specific details from our friends Paul and Sandy over at Energy Evolutions in Florida.

First, let me say this was NOT smooth sailing from the beginning. In fact the first mileage reports were disappointing, almost non-existent…so we went through a series of checklists: Power connections good? Fuse OK? HHO Generator making gas? Reservoir and electrolyte properly filled and mixed?

Everything should have been fine, but for some reason the mileage was not there….

We finally narrowed it down to a faulty mileage chip. Even though it was new, for some reason it wasn’t calibrating properly. So I had Paul mail it back to us, and we flashed a brand new chip for him- double checking all the parameters and running diagnostic checks on it just to make sure. I also included a Digital Quad Efie just in case the mileage chip did not function properly this time. It was the second set as the first one disappeared in UPS transit somehow…

Well- that appeared to fix the problem! I will let Paul’s email to me today tell the rest of the story…

Bob:

Well, Sandy and I had an exciting day.  We got our chip installed and calibrated.  Then we did our standard 140 mile (Exactly) test trip as we always do.  Here’s a break down of the “Standard Test Trip”:

- Fill car up at the Mobil station at the corner of Flamingo and Griffin Road (Two clicks on the top off).

- Drive down Griffin to I-75 N

- Drive 65 MPH on Cruise Control down I-75 N to the Florida Route 27 N

- Drive 65 MPH on Cruise Control down FL 27 N (except where otherwise posted)

- Pull into McDonalds in Clewiston and park in same rear parking space

- Turn engine off, and go in and order cheap lunch

- Return to Cooper City, FL via same route, backwards, using same speed and driving techniques.

- Stop at same Mobil Station, and same pump to fill up using same technique

- This total trip is Exactly 140 Miles.

So, here’s the breakdown:

- Nothing hooked up, stock from factory – 30 MPG  ( I was impressed with this and never thought we could do better)

- With the HHO System installed in “Best Manner” – 38 MPG (Not bad – But, needed to do better)

- With Milage Chip installed & Calibrated – (SIT DOWN NOW) - 67 MPG

Can you imagine a thirteen year old 4,000 pound piece of American Luxury steel (1997 Olds 88) going down the road at 67 MPG.  Well, Sandy and I are still not believing our eyes.  So, later this week we’ll make another “Standard Test Run”, just to be sure.

Enjoy,

Paul Hendee
